Organization

The Art Bible Child Foundation (ABC) was established in 1986. Its aim is to bring the Gospel with responsible and beautiful materials, especially to disadvantaged little children, anywhere on earth.

To this end ABC distributes illustrated Bible stories from the series ´What the Bible tells us´ of the artist Kees de Kort. Originally this series was published by the Netherlands Bible Society and subsequently translated into more than 90 languages. ABC accounts for part of these publications and distributes the booklets, project wise, in various countries. For each of these projects, ABC cooperates closely with local contacts and raises funds to make the delivery of the booklets possible.

ABC is administratively, spiritually and practically supported by the Netherlands Reformed Church in Wageningen, but aims to cooperate with Christians from all denominations.

Members of the board are Gerhard Zielhuis (chairman), Henko de Stigter (secretary) and Auke Vos (treasurer). The board members jointly decide on policy matters. Both the treasurer and the secretary are authorized for financial transactions. Hilde de Stigter provides practical, logistic and administrative support for the foundation. None of the board members or volunteers receives any reward for the work, but expenses are covered by the foundation.

ABC is an independent and non-profit foundation. It has a large stock of booklets from the series ´What the Bible tells us´ in many languages. Each delivery is covered either by direct payment or by special project funding to cover the costs of printing and transport. This income will be used to finance reprints and new editions. The foundation receives donations from individuals and via collections in church to cover the costs for management and communication.

The Art Bible Child Foundation (Stichting Art Bible Child; info@artbiblechild.org) is recognized by the Dutch Tax Administration as a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI; RSIN/fiscal number 8161.29.150; Chamber of Commerce number 41049617).
