Annual report 2023

Nearly 4,000 booklets were sent via our own network to contacts in Brazil, Peru, Mexico, China and Senegal. Thanks are due to the donors who made this financially possible. More about projects where the ABC material is used can be read under the Projects tab. A partner organisation purchased another 3,000 booklets in the languages ​​Ukrainian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, Luganda, Swahili and Vietnamese. Throughout the year, booklets were also ordered via the website. A permanent volunteer handled the applications and took care of shipping.

At the beginning of the year, René van Oosten took over the chairmanship from Gerhard Zielhuis. The board met twice, to evaluate results of current projects and discuss opportunities for new projects to be started. Unfortunately, the search for new board members, project leaders and other volunteers remained unsuccessful this year. For the Bible booklets in modern Arabic that appeared in print at the end of the year, potentially interested parties were approached.

At the start of 2023 there was a positive balance of € 31,950, and € 16,158 at the end of the year. Income (collections, donations, sale) amounted to € 6,439. In addition to the regular expenses (rental of storage space, administration, shipping) of € 1,744, there was a large cost of € 20,487 for the realisation of the Arabic edition.  An extensive financial report with statement by the audit committee is available for viewing by interested parties via the treasurer.
